The Beacon, Devon

The Beacon is an Elizabethan stone-built beacon house located at the southern end of the long spur of Shute Hill, Devon. The circular beacon house of 'beehive' type is about 18ft in diameter and has walls of mortared flint 6ft high with two stone buttresses and a conical roof. It is within the council area of East Devon (Devon).
