The Aubreys, Hertfordshire

The Aubreys is a prehistoric plateau fort near Redbourn, Hertfordshire. The settlement occupies a plateau some 350ft above sea level and is overlooked by higher ground on all sides. The fort consists of a double rampart and ditch. The inner rampart varies between 10 to 14ft and the outer rampart is 7 to 10ft above it. The site is within the council area of St. Albans (Hertfordshire).
