Thamesmead, Kent
Thamesmead is a new town in Kent, lying on the south bank of the River Thames between Woolwich and Erith. It was developed from the 1960s with futuristic looks and was dubbed 'the town of the twenty-first century'. Most of the land area of Thamesmead previously formed part of the Royal Arsenal site that extended over Plumstead Marshes and Erith Marshes. The town is within the council area of Greenwich.
