Thame is a market town in Oxfordshire. The name comes from the River Thame which flows past the north side of the town. Thame Park was built on the site of the earlier Thame Abbey, founded in 1138. The Prebendal House is known to have existed by 1234, and its Early English style chapel was built in about 1250. The town is within the council area of South Oxfordshire (Oxfordshire).
