Tamworth Castle is a Norman castle, located overlooking the meeting of the rivers Tame and Anker in Tamworth, lying in the Warwickshire part of the town. The site served as a residence of the Mercian kings in Anglo Saxon times. Refortified by the Normans, the building is today one of the best preserved motte-and-bailey castles in England. It is within the council area of Tamworth (Staffordshire).
