Swinton, Lanarkshire

Swinton is a former hamlet which has grown to be a residential area within the wider Baillieston area in Lanarkshire, on the periphery of the Glasgow conurbation. The Swinton area also includes the site of the 19th century village of Easterhouse, whereas the larger housing area of the same name lies across the M8 motorway to the north of Swinton. Swinton is within the council area of City of Glasgow.
