Sundridge, Kent
Sundridge (or Sundridge Park) is a suburban area in the north-east of the town of Bromley, Kent. The manor of Sundridge is first mentioned as 'Sundresse' in a charter from 987. Sundridge Park was established by Sir Claude Scott from 1795. He also has Sundridge Park Manor (designed by John Nash) constructed. Sundridge Park railway station opened 1896, the park became a golf course and suburban development commenced around the station and along the southern and western sides of the park. Ivor Berresford’s cedar-clad Brooklyn (1958), on Lodge Road, was inspired by modernist American architecture. The area is within the council area of Bromley.
