MenuStutfall Castle, Kent
Stutfall Castle (aka Portus Lemanis) is a Roman Saxon Shore fort near Lympne, Kent. The fort was built in about the late third century AD and abandoned in about AD 350. Though now inland, the conjectured coastline during the Roman period would have allowed the fort to protect the entrance of a substantial natural harbour in an area which is now part of Romney Marsh. It is within the council area of Folkestone and Hythe (Kent).
