Struell Bath Houses and Wells, Down
Struell Bath Houses and Wells is the site of holy wells associated with St Patrick, located in the townland of Struell, County Down. The site comprises a ruined mid 18th-century church, along with two wells and two bath houses (one for men and one for women). One of the wells is known as a Drinking Well, the other an Eye well. The Men's bathhouse has three chambers; a dressing room and the bathing room entered from the west; and a separate room at the east, probably the dressing room for the adjacent Women's bathhouse. The current buildings date from the 1600 or later, though the site has been a place of pilgrimage since at least the 14th century. The monument is in the care of the Department for Communities. The monument is within the council area of Newry, Mourne and Down.
