Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire

Stratford-on-Avon is a town in Warwickshire, standing on the banks of the River AVon. It is world famous as the birthplace and burial place of William Shakespeare (1564-1616). Shakespeare's Birthplace stands in Henley Street. The Holy Trinity Church is the place of baptism, marriage and burial of Shakespeare. The Royal Shakespeare Theatre, completed in 1932, is the home of the Royal Shakespeare Company. The town is within the council area of Stratford-on-Avon (Warwickshire).
