Strangeways, Lancashire

Strangeways is an urban area in Manchester, Lancashire. It lies just north of the confluence of the rivers Irk and Irwell. Formerly the site of Strangeways Hall and Strangeways Park, since 1868 it has been best known as the site of Strangeways Prison. It is within the council area of Manchester.
