Strand on the Green, Middlesex
Strand on the Green is a mediæval village that lies beside the River Thames in the western part of Chiswick, Middlesex. The area was a fishing village named "Stronde" in 1353. By the 18th century, it had become a place of river-trade. During the 20th century it became a residential area. The Strand itself is some 500 yards of houses, forming terraces in varied styles and heights, fronting the riverside walk. It is within the council area of Hounslow.
