Stowey Castle, Somerset
Stowey Castle is a Norman motte-and-bailey castle at Nether Stowey, Somerset. It consists of a flat-topped motte, originally occupied by a square keep, along with an outer and an inner bailey. The motte is 29ft above the 6ft wide ditch. The castle was destroyed in the 15th century. It is within the council area of Somerset.
