Stowe House, Buckinghamshire

Stowe House is a country house, now a school, located to the north-west of Buckingham, Buckinghamshire. The house dates back to the late 17th-century but saw three later periods of major work. The showpiece of the House is the south façade overlooking the gardens, one of the finest examples of neoclassical architecture in Britain. The park and gardens are in the care of the National Trust. The gardens are one of the first, and certainly the most influential, of what came to be called 'landscape gardens'. The estate is within the council area of Buckinghamshire.
