Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire

Stourport-on-Severn (often just Stourport) is a town standing on the River Severn in the north of Worcestershire. The town grew up from the late 18th century around the canal basins linking the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal to the River Severn. The hamlet of Little Mitton, which lay north-east of the canal basin, was subsumed by the growing town. The canal basins are now a centre for leisure boating. The town is within the council area of Wyre Forest (Worcestershire).
