Story Moats, Bedfordshire

Story Moats is the remains of a mediæval moated enclosure near Everton, Bedfordshire. It was the site of Everton manor house, of which there are no no upstanding remains. The moat is sub-square in shape measuring 300ft across including the surrounding ditches which measure up to 75ft wide. The moat is central to a complex series of outworks, thought to be fishponds and water management works. The site is within the council area of Central Bedfordshire.
