Stockton Earthworks, Wiltshire
Stockton Earthworks are the remains of a Romano-British village situated on the summit of a ridge in Stockton Wood, Wiltshire. The village survives as a complex series of earthworks which include two discrete and individually enclosed settlements, with an unenclosed settlement of several huts in the area between them which have all been further enclosed within a much greater outer enclosure. Excavations have produced many finds indicating an occupation range of the 1st to 4th centuries AD. The monument is within the council area of Wiltshire.
