Stephen's Castle, Dorset
Stephen's Castle is a prehistoric bowl barrow on Boveridge Heath in Dorset. It is one of a dispersed group of similar monuments situated on Boveridge Heath. Excavation in 1828 revealed a cremation under an inverted urn. The barrow has a mound, 50ft in diameter and about 3ft high, surrounded by a quarry ditch, from which material was derived for its construction. It is within the council area of Dorset.
