Staunton Harold Church, Leicestershire

Staunton Harold Church (Chapel of the Holy Trinity) is unique as a complete survival of a church built during the commonwealth, located in Staunton Harold Park, Leicestershire. The inscription over west doors reads "In the year 1653 when all things sacred were throughout ye nation either demolisht or profaned Sir Robert Shirley Baronet, founded this church, whose singular praise it is to have done ye best things in ye worst times and hoped them in the most calamitous. The righteous shall be had in everlasting remembrance." It is in the care of the National Trust. It is within the council area of North West Leicestershire (Leicestershire).
