Stanwell, Middlesex

Stanwell is a village in the Spelthorne area of Middlesex. It is listed in Domesday Book as 'Stanwelle'. The village now lies to the south of Heathrow Airport and north-east of Staines Reservoir. The Church St Mary the Virgin is a Norman building with a 14th-century Gothic chancel and 15th-century Perpendicular Gothic west tower. It is within the council areas of Spelthorne district and Surrey county council.
