Stanway is a suburban village in Essex. The original village lies along the Stane Street Roman Road (A4108), around the 12th century St Albright's Church. A large suburban area developed in the 20th century to the east of the village but within the civil parish of Stanway. Stanway is within the council area of Colchester (Essex).
