St Radegund's Abbey, Kent
St Radegund's Abbey is the remains of a Premonstratensian abbey near Church Hougham, Kent. The abbey was founded in 1191 on the land of Bradsole Manor. In 1538 the abbey was dissolved and much of the stone used to Sandgate Castle. The site was sold to Simon Edolph in 1590, who converted the refectory building into the extant St Radegund's Farmhouse. The upstanding remains of the monastery are centred on the cloister of the abbey, much of the walls of which survive, and largely date to the late 12th or 13th century. They currently form the entrance gatehouse and forecourt to St Radegund’s Farmhouse. The site is within the council area of Dover (Kent).
