St Piran's Round, Cornwall

St Piran's Round (aka Perran Round) is a "round" enclosure and mediæval amphitheatre, located near Goonhavern, Cornwall. Rounds are small embanked enclosures dating to between the later Iron Age and the early post-Roman period. The round was later adapted as a 'plen-an-gwary', a mediæval amphitheatre used for performing the Ordinalia. From the 19th century, it was used for religious meetings and political rallies. The diameter of the interior is about 148ft and the circular earth rampart is around 10ft high. It is within the council area of Cornwall.
