St Patrick's Cathedral, Armagh
St Patrick's Cathedral is a Church of Ireland cathedral in the town of Armagh, County Armagh. It is the seat of the Anglican Archbishop of Armagh and Diocese of Armagh. The church stands on Cathedral Hill, the highest point in Armagh. The site was possibly once a pagan sanctuary. According to tradition, St Patrick founded his main church here in AD 445. The church has been destroyed and rebuilt many time since, the latest rebuilding being in the 1830s. The cathedral is within the council area of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon.
