St Mark’s Parish Church, Down
St Mark’s Parish Church (C of I) is a 19th-century Perpendicular Gothic church, situated on Church Street in Newtownards, County Down. It is within the townland of Corporation South, in the civil parish of Newtownards. The original church (1816) had a simple cruciform layout. Around 1858 the north transept was demolished and a large extension was added, resulting in a fine Gothic Church in Perpendicular Style. The original portion is constructed in Scrabo ashlar stone. The extension is constructed in a squared, snecked, rock face, Scrabo stone. The church is within the council area of Ards and North Down.
