St James's, Middlesex

St James's is a district in Westminster, Middlesex, forming part of the West End of London. Once part of the north-western gardens and parks of St James's Palace, during the 17th century the area was developed as a residential location for the British aristocracy. St James's is sometimes referred to as "Clubland" due to the large number of gentlemen's clubs which have been located in the area since the 19th century. The area is within the council area of Westminster.
