St Deiniols Ash, Flintshire
St Deiniols Ash is a historic house near Hawarden, Flintshire. Legend states that St Deiniol, the 4th-century Irish saint, was shipwrecked near here in the Dee estuary and apparently planted his staff (of ash) on the site. The house itself dates from the 16th century with major additions in the early 17th century. It is within the council area of Flintshire.
