St Cybi's Well, Caernarfonshire
St Cybi's Well (Welsh: Ffynnon Gybi) is a holy well near Llangybi, Caernarfonshire. Dedicated to Cybi, a 6th-century saint reputed to have lived in the area, the well’s waters have long been believed to hold healing properties. The spring itself is enclosed by a small chamber. The waters flow into an adjacent chamber, built of large stone blocks enclosing a bathing pool around 6ft in width. The pool is bordered along its edges by a stone walkway, with alcoves in the wall providing space for offerings, candles or seating. The age of the well buildings is not known. A ruined 18th-century stone cottage is adjacent, possibly once the home of a well-keeper or accommodation for pilgrims. The site is in the care of Cadw. It is within the council area of Gwynedd.
