St Andrews, Fife
St Andrews is a university town and royal burgh on the east coast of Fife. St Andrews is known worldwide as the "home of golf". The Royal and Ancient Golf Club, founded in 1754, exercises legislative authority over the game worldwide. The University of St Andrews is the third oldest university in the English-speaking world. To the east of the town centre, lie the ruins of the Cathedral of St Andrew. The town is within the council area of Fife.
