Spittal, Northumberland
Spittal is a small seaside resort town in Northumberland. Spittal lies on the south side of the River Tweed opposite Berwick-upon-Tweed, on the corner where the estuary of the Tweed opens into the North Sea. Spittal Beach is considered one of the best beaches in Northumberland. The parish church is St John the Evangelist. The town is within the council area of Northumberland.
