Sparkhill, Worcestershire

Sparkhill is a former hamlet that is now an urban area in Birmingham, lying on the hill to the south of the Spark Brook in Worcestershire. The area began to be developed from the 1850s. It became part of the Birmingham municipal area in 1911. Sparkhill Library now occupies the former Council House for Yardley rural district (1900). The area is within the council area of Birmingham.
