Southwick, Durham

Southwick is a former village that is now a suburb of Sunderland, County Durham. Southwick is centered on its village green which includes a World War II war memorial. Holy Trinity Church was built in 1842-1845 to the designs of the Architect and Clerk of Works to Durham Cathedral George L Jackson. It is situated on an area of elevated ground overlooking the River Wear. Southwick is within the council area of Sunderland.
