Southwell Schools and Almshouses, Down
Southwell Schools and Almshouses is an early-Georgian building on English Street in Downpatrick, County Down. It is within the townland of Demesne Of Down Acre, in the civil parish of Down. The Southwell Schools and Almshouses were founded by Edward Southwell in 1733 and designed by Sir Edward Lovett Pearce. The almshouses form the long centre portion of the building, the schools and master's and mistress's residences being at either end. The building is within the council area of Newry, Mourne and Down.
