South Yardley, Worcestershire

South Yardley is an urban area in the east of Birmingham, in the Yardley salient of Worcestershire. The name, which refers to the area around the crossroads of the Coventry Road and Yardley Road, came into use after the opening of Acocks Green and South Yardley railway station in 1852. Yardley Cemetery was opened in 1883 by Yardley Rural District Council. The area is within the council area of Birmingham.
