Snibston, Leicestershire

Snibston is a former mining village that is now usually considered to be a part of Coalville, Leicestershire. The area, at the north of the Snibston estate, became the basis of three collieries from the 1830s and the settlement developed around these. The earlier village of Snibston, with the church of St Mary, lies to the south of the former mining settlement. The area is within the council area of North West Leicestershire (Leicestershire).
