Snap, Wiltshire
Snap is an abandoned hamlet near Aldbourne, Wiltshire. Though never more than a hamlet, Snap remained populated until the early 20th century when the landowner turned the area to sheep grazing, forcing farm labourers to seek employment elsewhere. Some of the abandoned cottages were demolished during World War I when the area was used for gunnery practice. Snap Farm was demolished in the 1930s. The site is within the council area of Wiltshire.
