Silsden, Yorkshire

Silsden is a town in Yorkshire, in the West Riding. Previously an agricultural area, the arrival of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal in 1816 brought the textile industry to the town. Silsden Town Hall dates from 1894. Several former mill buildings, including Waterloo Mills, are still in use as industrial or residential buildings. The town is within the council area of Bradford.
