Sidmouth, Devon
Sidmouth is a seaside resort town, lying at at the mouth of the River Sid on the south coast of Devon. Sidmouth is listed in Domesday as 'Sedemuda'. Originally a fishing village, it had expanded to become a market town by the 13th century. It became a fashionable resort during the Regency period, a number of buildings from this period surviving. The town is within the council area of East Devon (Devon).
