Sidcup, Kent

Sidcup is a suburban town in Kent. It began developing from a small village to a suburban town from the late 19th century and today has a mixture of large Victorian and Edwardian properties alongside 1930s suburban developments. Queen Mary's Hospital, first opened in 1817 as the Queen's Hospital, is known for its pioneering work on plastic surgery under Sir Harold Gillies. Frognal House is a Jacobean mansion. The town is within the council area of Bexley.
