MenuShotton, Flintshire
Shotton is an industrial town in Flintshire lying on the River Dee. It is continuous with the towns of Connah's Quay and Queensferry in what is called 'Deeside'. Originally founded by Anglo-Saxons, the town grew from the eighteenth century around coal mining and farming on reclaimed marshland. The town later became famous for its steel works. Shotton is within the council area of Flintshire.
