Shipton Barrow, Oxfordshire
Shipton Barrow is a Bronze Age bowl barrow located on a broad ridge on top of Shipton Down in Oxfordshire. The bowl barrow has been partially reduced by cultivation but survives as a visible mound 50ft in diameter and 2ft high. Adjacent to it is an Anglo-Saxon hlaew or burial mound. To the north-west, south-west and south-east of the mounds lies a three sided enclosure, the open fourth side of which is formed by the barrow. The site is within the council area of West Oxfordshire (Oxfordshire).
