Shepperton, Middlesex

Shepperton is a suburban village in the Spelthorne area of Middlesex, on the River Thames. It is recorded in Domesday as Scepertone. It remained an agricultural village until the opening in 1864 of the Shepperton Branch Line, following which a suburban area developed around the station, to the north-east of the original village (sometimes now known as 'Old Shepperton'). Shepperton Film Studios is in the neighbouring village of Littleton. Shepperton is within the council areas of Spelthorne district and Surrey county council.
