Sheerwater, Surrey

Sheerwater is a suburban village in Surrey. Sheerwater was formerly a high sandy heath, divided from around 1790 by the Basingstoke Canal. It was developed as a new neighbourhood by the London County Council from the early 1950s. It is sometimes considered an outer suburb of Woking. It is within the council area of Woking (Surrey).
