Sedgemoor Battlefield, Somerset
Sedgemoor Battlefield is the site of the Battle of Sedgemoor (6th July 1685), located near Westonzoyland, Somerset. It was the final battle of the Monmouth rebellion, resulting in a victory to the Royal Army and the subsequent capture and execution of the Duke of Monmouth. A stone memorial marks the site and commemorates those who fell there. The battlefield is within the council area of Somerset.
