Seaham, Durham

Seaham is a seaside town in County Durham. Once a small village, Seaham grew from the late 19th century alongside its harbour and coal mines. On 2nd January 1815 the poet Lord Bryon married Anne Isabella Milbanke, daughter of a local landowner, at Seaham Hall. The town is within the council area of County Durham.
