Sea Mills, Gloucestershire
Seamills is a former hamlet that is now an outer western suburb of Bristol, Gloucestershire, lying where the River Trym enters the River Avon. Joshua Franklin built a wet dock at the site in 1712 to eliminate the need for large ships to navigate further up the Avon, though the harbour fell into disrepair by the 19th century. Sea Mills was developed as a planned green suburb from the 1920s. It is within the council area of Bristol.
