Scrivelsby Court is a historic house at Scrivelsby, Lincolnshire, in the Parts of Lindsey. The Dymoke family has resided at Scrivelsby since around 1380, and were the traditional holders of the title of King's Champion. This was a ceremonial right, which entitled the holder to ride armed into Westminster Hall during a coronation and challenge anyone to contest the monarch's right to the throne. The original manor house, known as Scrivelsby Court, suffered a fire in 1761 and was eventually demolished between 1955 and 1957 due to its derelict state. However, the gatehouse was retained and restored in 1959. It has predominantly 15th and 16th-century features and later Georgian additions, and is used as the private residence for family members. The site also features 'Lion Gateway', built around 1530 and rebuilt in 1833, which leads to the estate. The estate's parkland was designed by Humphry Repton in the 18th century. Today Scriveslby is a country estate with a deer park and an event site for country fairs. The Dymoke family continues to privately own the estate and a new single-story house was constructed behind the existing garden wall, providing accessible living for elderly residents. It is within the council area of East Lindsey (Lincolnshire).
