Scrabo Tower, Down

Scrabo Tower is a Victorian tower, located at the top of Scrabo Hill overlooking Strangford Lough in the townland of Scrabo, County Down. The tall square tower is about 140ft high. It was constructed in 1857/58 by Charles Lanyon in the French influenced Scots baronial style as a monument to the 3rd Marquis of Londonderry. The monument is in the care of the Department for Communities. The monument is within the council area of Ards and North Down.
