Scottish Provident Building, Antrim

The Scottish Provident Building is a grand, symmetrical, multi-bay, sandstone Italianate early 20th-century office block, located in Donegall Square in Belfast, County Antrim. It is within the townland of Town Parks, in the civil parish of Shankill. It comprises six-storeys over a basement, with an attic-storey. It was built in 1902, to the designs of Young and Mackenzie. The building is U-shaped in plan, with a central pedimented bow and chamfered corner elevations surmounted by octagonal domed pavilions. Much historic fabric and detailing survives. It is within the council area of Belfast.
