Scotstoun, Renfrewshire
Scotstoun is an district of the West End of Glasgow. It lies in that part of Renfrew civil parish, in Renfrewshire, which lies north of the Clyde. Scotstoun was until the early 1860s the site of the Oswald family estate, which was centred on Scotstoun House. The expansion of the Clyde shipyards led to the break-up of the estate and its development for housing and industrial land. It is within the council area of City of Glasgow.
